TITLE: Portrait 1014 18"x20"

The portrait was created using a colour photograph, the couple were sitting at a table with lots of clutter on such as empty glasses. The client wanted just their faces and top half of their bodies and choose the colour scheme to be blue inspired by the portrait 1010 which she had seen on this website. The client was very please with the outcome and it was perfect gift for her parents.

TITLE: Storm

I named this painting Storm as it seems to have a wild impression and is very energetic. As seen above if displayed at different angles this painting takes on a whole different form. It has been made up of simply black and white paint and a touch of silver glitter.

TITLE: Retro Painting 16" x 20"

This painting was inspired by a sample of fabric I found, I liked the image as it is very simple yet we can make it out to be a piece of scenery. Behind the flower are two hills the white areas that flow around appear as though they are mists or clouds. The image is very surreal and very effective, it is bold and energetic as lots is going on within the painting but it also feels very claming. I really like the 70's feel it brings and recently I have been inspired to create many retro patterned paintings taking inspiration from material, decor and popular colours of the 70's era.

TITLE: Baa & Bapa 20"x24"

The palette used for this portrait was brown and white to match the clients room decor and the subjects were taken from two separate photographs and combined together. The only trouble I had in creating this piece was that the female subject looked alot more straight faced and serious where as her husband was much more happier in result of the photos being taken on two separate occasions and each not being in the same mood. To make the couple harmonize when combined I altered the women's mouth slightly so that she would fit in with her husbands cheerful manner. The women also was in less light then the male and I had to reduce alot of shading within her face so that the lighting on the pair would match.

TITLE: Elvis in Stripes 24" X 20"

Unlike my portrait Marilyn in Stripe this portraits was crated with a theme colour palette of brown and cream. Their are some beautiful rich chocolate colours and latte colours that are hard to see within this photograph of the painting. Elvis was painted using a metallic bronze colour which appear in different lights as different colours. In some light Elvis appears gold and is hard to make out among the background stripes, other times he stands out perfectly as he appears alot darker in colour and more brown. This painting has a wonderful look that can not be fully captured by the camera, it seems to appear looking different all the time and the colours used are very calming.

TITLE: Wards Beach 24"x30"

This sea scape scene was created purely from my imagination, the clients wanted a painting to go within their living room/lounge which carried a colour scene of cream and brown and wanted a painting that would create a calming atmosphere i suggested a beach scene with minimal detail, and chose colours that would go beautifully with their decor.

TITLE: Portrait 1012 24"x30"

Black and white always seem to be a popular colour for a portrait, it takes us back to the glamorous and classic movie icons and famous figures of the past and can be displayed in any room going well with any style and colour. The commission was for a female client who sent me a great number of photographs of her non camera shy boyfriend. My task was to capture the beauty and laid back nature of her partner and together we discussed all options, ideas and what photograph would be best suited for the desired final result.
