TITLE: Marilyn in Stripes

SIZE: 24" x 20" Acrylic on canvas.

Marilyn Monroe has always been of great interest and fascination to me, she represents youth, fun, colour and excitement, sexuality, glamour and Hollywood . Marilyn more then any other icon represent's the Golden era of Hollywood and still today remains one of the most famous, controversial, beautiful and powerful figures of all time. With this colourful portrait I have created a piece of attractive pop art that has a real energetic, fun and exciting feel to it. The bright bold colours of yellow, mint, pink and white create a very modern feel perfect for minimal decor and to brighten up any room.

As with all paintings on display, if you like what you see but are unsure about the colours used or subject why not have your very own commissioned in the way you desire.

TITLE: Epping Forest's High Beach Series

SIZE:14"x54" Acrylic on Board 14"x18"individually

Epping Forest is one of the last parts of the great oak forests that surrounded London until medieval times; it is ancient deciduous woodland (circa 8000 BC) that runs north east out of London. It covers an area of about 6,000 acres. Much of the forest is a Site of Special Scientific Interest. There are over 360 rare plants and animal species present, and about 500 deer roam in the forest. It had been the hunting ground of the Kings and Queens of England since Norman times considered Royal ground until 6 May 1882 when Queen Victoria declared this beautiful Forest "The People's Forest." Rumor has it that London gangsters for years have used this forest to hide their victims bodies and ghostly sites have been reported bringing a mysterious and eerie atmosphere to its night fall.

I've always been compelled by the way a forests whole atmosphere is changed throughout the day. even in broad day light sometimes a forests can make you uneasy and frightened but at the same time brings a beautiful feel of life and peace that is rather relaxing. With these individual landscape paintings brought together I've created a unique image of time.

The first being a scene from the wildly known Epping Forests High Beach at day break. the twilight atmosphere brings a beautiful calming effect. the purples and blues of the sky reflect on the soil leading to the forest bringing an mystical mysterious reflection. Their are some interesting colour combinations within this painting and would look beautiful as single piece but combined with the others the whole feel of time and change is really felt, and that is what makes this piece so effective and unique.

The second landscape scene captures High beach's warm afternoon the plain image of a dead tree is some what brought to life by the suns beams shining through on to it. The image is bright and energizing.

The final of this series is of night fall, partnered this time with the famous English weather creates a more chilling atmosphere. The end of the dead tree is ghostly and frightening. The rain falls from the trees branches and leaves. the overall effect is dark and gloomy.
