After passing my A' levels and a Foundation Degree in Art and Design I took a Degree in Fine art and Illustration and developed a strong interest in figure and portrait painting, later studying Photography, Landscape painting and Still Life drawing.

After graduating I set up Claire's Canvas with the idea of creating original pieces of art work and allowing my clients to get exactly what they want by concentrating on commissioning.

Communication is essential to having a piece of artwork commissioned, it allows me to build a good relationship with my clients which is a vital factor within the art industry but its importance is unappreciated and misplaced entirely by far too many. By building up a strong relationship I'm able to meet my client's needs and exceed their expectations. It also awards the opportunity to meet new and different types of people building up my personal experience as an artist.

Although I specialize in acrylic painting I excel in the mediums of oil and water colour and am also a skilful pencil, charcoal and pastel drawer.
